randomness because i got nothin' else.
probably the only knitting content of this post. i never mentioned that i joined ravelry awhile back thanks to amanda. i like it a lot. i don't love it. but i like it. the only reason i don't love it - too much work. i can't see keeping it updated and maintaining a blog at the same time. and i don't use flickr for blogging so that throws in yet another step. i am trying to reduce my computer time these days. but if you are blogless or have a lot of time? it is brilliant. i pretty much use it to surf other's projects and yarns. it is good inspiration! so even if i am terrible updating it, it has some great other features (oh and the groups are a lot of fun too!).
i bought the new smashing pumpkins cd. i wasn't going to. billy corgan is full of himself. he made a comment at live earth that really irked me. and at the last smashing pumpkins concert in seattle (years ago, when they knew they were breaking up) he made some idiotic comments too. but i couldn't resist. sp was like my all time favorite band back in my 20's. i was hard core. anyways, the new cd is good.
i would comment on how i feel the next season of grey's is going to be but it is too depressing. i am 90% sure i won't like the direction they go.
stitch n' pitch is this thursday! should be tons of fun. i am making some stitch markers for my lys to take to the event. i could be wrong, but i think seattle was the first mlb city to do stitch n' pitch. it is a pretty amazing event with lots of vendors.
i am not knitting. it is sad but true. i have been reading a lot. i know i just need to pick up the needles to get going but haven't done that yet. maybe stitch n' pitch will help.

I love grey's and I am worried they will be like ER. I used to watch ER religiously and just can't anymore because it is way to depressing!
I am waiting for my Ravelry invite. I was a bit late in getting on the wagon I think I have over 7000 people ahead of me.
One of my knitting friends said start taking pictures now. wow!
I've heard that the next season of Grey's is supposed to be more upbeat than the last but that doesn't make me any more excited for it to come back. I have no interest in new interns and even less so in Meredith's other sister. Thankfully Ugly Betty usually saves Thursday t.v. for me! Now if only we didn't have to wait until February for Lost...
Ohhh, I was so into the Smashing Pumpkins too! But I agree with your comments about Billy Corgan...if only he'd just sing, not talk, just sing!
I'm a little scared about Grey's too. What a bummer since that is probably one of my all time favorite shows. No more Burke? How could they? What's going to happen to Christina? I'm both eagerly awaiting and dreading the season opener. All I have to say is Shonda better take care of her loyal viewers!
Hang in there - your knitting bug will come back when it's ready to.
It's so fun that you're listening to Smashing Pumpkins. Oh, I just love their sound. I loved them when they were first popular and I still love hearing their old stuff today. How fun to listen to them again. I think that I'll go look up some of their stuff right now...
Grey's Anatomy - yeah, it's frustrating to see such a good show possibly going down the toilet. However, I'm going to hang in there, even if they suck this next season. It is possible that they might bring back some good stuff if they get bad feedback.
Ravelry has been fun for me, too. But just like you I find that it's a little bit much. I hate that I want to post my stash but Flickr will only let you post so many pics for free. If you want to pay to upgrade, you can post more pics. I like taking pics of knitting and yarn (I know, boring!) so it's kind of frustrating to me. Well, I'm sure that they will tweak things as they mature. For now, I'm okay with it not sucking more time out of my life. ;)
Don't beat yourself up about not knitting- I think a lot of people are taking a break. I hope you'll post pics of the markers- and hope you have fun at SnP!
You OK? Just worried about ya!
Ahhh. I'll be looking for you on Thursday! I'm such a good to be girl stitch marker ho. I hope I can get my hands on some before they are snatched up!
I feel your lack of motivation - mine just happens to be work related, not knitting related!!!
Looking forward to seeing you Thursday - I have a feeling it will be more shopping/visiting than bball and knitting!!!
Take care - have missed you!
You sound a bit blue. Find something sinful in your stash in a fabulous shade and apply with abandon QUICKLY! Just get it close and breath it in.....there, that's better, right?
I feel like it's been an effort for me to knit lately as well. I think summer offers so many other distractions that it's hard to sit still! That's my problem at least.
;)
I haven't knit anything since I got World Of Warcraft *sighs*. :) It will come back to me though!
I'm nervous about Grey's as well. Last season was so depressing to me. I am excited about the new season to start, but it was so annoying with all the breaks. One new show three old ones. Ugh. I'd rather it just run from point a to point b without all the crap in between.
I haven't gotten my invite yet. I'm like behind 3000 ppl in line for one ;)
I've always found that having a bunch of people knitting around you makes you extra inspired to knit as well!
I agree with your Ravelry comments about Flickr etc. Were you at the Stitch and Pitch? Had you gone other years? if so was this a boring year? I'm glad I was in Seattle on business and hadn't driven the 450 miles round trip for nothing. And yes, I think Grey's has "jumped the shark">
