not only knitting
you know when those weird coincidences happen? the ones that kind of make you think it must mean something? i had one of those today.
i was getting all geared up to right a post about all the crafty things i used to do when i realized it had been exactly a year since this post. that is just too strange. needless to say, not much has changed, although i did manage to create a couple creative parties. other than that it remains mostly about the knitting.

of course all this musing came from the release of the new martha products (thanks amanda for the tip the other night!). these are the type of products i used to horde. and i probably still would if i didn't horde another little thing called yarn!
anyways, blah blah blah, i had all this stuff written about my old job (i managed a papyrus store for 5 years) and how i was a paper snob and how i miss having a job that i loved but don't miss retail etc. but i won't go there now. just look at the pretty martha stuff (ok so i probably bought more than string and cupcake liners).
and i'll be including this blurb in most of my may posts for those that didn't catch it before (although i know a lot of you did, thanks for all the wonderful comments on the last couple posts!)...
if you have been reading this blog for awhile you know that may is my blogiversary month! i'll officially hit 3 years at the end of this month. it boggles my mind. as you know, i have done some give aways in celebration and this year will be no different. i haven't worked out prizes (but duh! you know stitch markers will be involved!) but i will say that i highly encourage you to leave comments in may. i will actually be keeping track of all the comments and my contest will somehow revolve around them. so if you are a lurker i suggest you de-lurk if you want the chance at some good stuff! more details to come.
tomorrow there will be a small batch of markers for sale over on the shop blog.

Yeah for Martha!!! Glad my tip meant you spent more money! :)
I just discovered that Martha craft site yesterday. My poor credit card!!
Now go make some cupcakes. I received the Cupcake cookbook, which I believe you own too, for my birthday. I loooove the choc. chip cupcakes. They're like a cookie when they're still warm.
I love that new Martha Stuff. Too cute. And I'm putting my credit card away now!
Day 3 - still celebrating!! Woo hoo! And those may be the cutest cupcake wrappers ever. Did you know that there's a cupcake of the day blog somewhere on this here Internet?? I'll look for it. :)
Wow! I mean, WOW! Loved revisiting those old posts and reliving just how absolutely crafty and amazing you are (with the craftiness and the decorating, etc.).
Dude, you SO need to write a "Marthaesque" type book. I would totally buy it!
oooh - I can't decide if I want to thank you or curse you for providing the link to the MarthaCraftSite...
I had no idea...
:)
Delurking to say... Despite that fact that I have spent the past few weeks weeding out my crafting supplies in preparation for a move, I must buy Martha Craft products as soon as possible. Thanks for the link.
I still heart Martha! Thanks for the link.
Your links are evil (in a good way of course heehee). Your link to the peaches and cream site had me order a bunch of different colors I never knew existed - I'm so excited to get some more dishcloths going. However, those darn cupcake liners as sooo cute and I love cupcakes too... must. resist.
ooh, i saw the martha stuff at michael's the other day, but not that pretty string! i want the string! :)
I'm so tempted to go to Michael's for some Martha goodness!
I'm just here to de-lurk and hope that I make it in time to snatch up some cool stitch markers tomorrow!
I just want to say thanks for posting about that Boots nail polish last week. I bought some (had to have that chocolate brown) and this stuff rocks! After three days of kids baths and dishes, and it still hasn't chipped or anything. What a great find :)
OH man, I was just wasting money, I mean, buying lots of things I need, at Michaels yesterday and about died when I saw the new Martha line. *sigh* So wonderful.
Hey there,
Thanks for the old posts, super cool links that may come in handy while planning my wedding reception. *Thank goodness for eloping* I nearly forgot about all the wonderful ideas and what not's that Martha offers.
cheers, Yeh! for stitch markers.
Let's see, 10 am Pacific time...what time is that here in Italy??? De-lurking- although I'm not really a fan of that term, to say cheers for the new markers! They're soooo sweet.
I have been seeing people post about Martha's new craft line and I really want those bakers twine.
I havne't made it over to my Michael's yet, but ever time I see a new post about the Martha stuff I just want to jump in the car and go! Maybe after the stitch marker sale tomorrow?

That was a year ago? Time flys. Thanks for reminding me of a fun day together!
i went to michael's yesterday and saw the martha stuff. damn she's like the devil, isn't she. although i didn't want to, i ended up coming home with a set of acrylic alphabet stamps, etc. but that's it!
anyway, funny thing about your post of a year ago, i saw a metal clay book the other day, and thought of you.
Wait, they sell that crafty goodness in stores? Take away my credit card now, please! Have you seen the Bluelines blog? That's another one of my recent Martha faves.
I love the Martha stuff-the best part is you can use coupons. Michael's will accept Jo-Ann Fabrics & AC Moore coupons, print only, not on-line. I was lucky enough to attend 2 tapings of her show last week.
Now, Amy, how could I resist the possiblity of the chance at a delightful treat from you? I don't even DARE go to the martha craft site!
I enjoy your blog. Happy anniversary!! Donna S.
yeah...mental note to self...must buy stitch markers tomorrow. Can't wait.
What cutie little string stashes!
What are the little bobbin things? Martha Stewart Craft site could be pretty dangerous.
Thanks for the comment! I love the snowmen marker, it's the only one I have that hasn't gotten lost.
I didn't realize Martha had a line at Micheals, looks like it could cause a serious dent in ones wallet.
I so LOOOVE your stitchmarkers
That Martha Stewart stuff looks so great! Wish they shipped o/seas! :0)
Happy blogiversary month to you!
Happy, Happy Blogiversary!!!!!
oh no! Now I'm going to *have* to go spend money at Michaels!!
martha stuff is very very cute!
and can't wait for the marker sale :)
Hooray Day 4!!
I cannot believe you had a Papyrus store-I didn't even know they were on the west coast! Papyrus is the main reason I go over my "frivolous things I don't need" budget every month. I DO have a reputation for giving gorgeously wrapped gifts...it's hard to go wrong with the things they have there! sigh...I'm imaging what your discount would have been!
Oh great, now I have to go to Michaels again. You are such an enabler.
I love that kind of stuff...thanks for the link :)
I can just see a chicken trussed up in Martha pink!
How cute!
I just went to Michaels too and bought up the cupcake liners and twine, and wrapping paper, markers and....oy, somebody stop me!
Happy anniversary!
I saw the giant layout in the Sunday paper for the new line. Everything is cute, but I can't help but cringe at some of the prices. Which is one of the reasons that I will stick to buying my boxes at Ikea. They are much cheaper there. Also this is a good source for those bakery type boxes: http://www.papermart.com/
I may have to splurge though and get one of the MS ribbon boxes. They are just so handy!
