cotton

when i posted my cone of peaches & creme from ebay awhile back, Donna A. (an anonymous commenter) left me the link to order directly from the manufacturer. thanks for the enabling donna! i quickly ordered a ball of several colorways to see what i thought (you can never trust your monitor!). so above i have (clockwise and then center) fairy tales, black cherry, aztec ombre, pink lemonade, mint chocolate (which has blue and brown, not green and brown as you would think!), raspberry swirl and in the center, mar-di-gras.

**EDITED TO ADD LINK shop direct

i have no idea what i am doing with them yet. :) dishcloths most likely.

and i'll be including this blurb in most of my may posts for those that didn't catch it yesterday...

if you have been reading this blog for awhile you know that may is my blogiversary month! i'll officially hit 3 years at the end of this month. it boggles my mind. as you know, i have done some give aways in celebration and this year will be no different. i haven't worked out prizes (but duh! you know stitch markers will be involved!) but i will say that i highly encourage you to leave comments in may. i will actually be keeping track of all the comments and my contest will somehow revolve around them. so if you are a lurker i suggest you de-lurk if you want the chance at some good stuff! more details to come.

I love that black cherry! I remember awhile ago you'd mentioned knitting a beach blanket out of the cotton yarn, I always thought that was a good idea, did you ever do it?

Well, then, I guess I need to de-lurk. I read all the time, but mostly have not much to say other than "that looks cool" or something else like that. That yarn does indeed look cool.

Those colors are all so gorgeous. I think I'll have to break out my cotton stash soon & get started on some dishcloths, too.

OMG those colors are awesome. I have an addiction to knitting cotton dishcloths. My local stores have a pitiful selection of sugar n cream and only Walmart (which I avoid like the plague) has peaches n cream around here so I'm going to check out that link!

Good gravy, who knew P&C came in all those colors? Of course I went straight to the 'specials' section, and now 40 kilos of butter yellow dishcloth yarn are winging their way to my house.

I really like the black cherry colorway. Maybe I should knit dishcloths during my commute/lunch for awhile to get over my sock slump. Hmmm...I do need new dishcloths!

Thanks for adding the link! I may have to buy some so that I can get some more dishcloths going. I like the mint chocolate in the blue and brown - it is odd that it's blue and brown and now green and brown, as in an Andes mint.

Hey Amy,

Thanks for sharing the "buy direct" link for the yarn...it's funny, but the Peaches and Cream yarn I just bought (on sale for a $1 a skein at a craft store) had a different label...I wonder why? Love the Mint Chocolate colorway, although I agree that lint, minty green would have been what I espected, instead of blue...oh, well, I like it in blue better!

Love those... i just bought some at my LYS, but they didn't have nearly the selection. I'm using mine for baby "gear" (they're machine washable!!!) i.e. burp clothes, bibs, etc. likely with a few washclothes thrown in!

I recently found your blog while googling trekking yarn. The shot of the sour apple colorway sent me directly to the peaches & cream website! I did have some will power, but it's gonna be harder now after seeing this photo!!

LOVE some of the colors that Peaches and Creme has, however....my current cotton stash is stuffed and overflowing a VERY large Lantern Moon basket at the moment, so I'm resisting temptation for as long as I can....sigh...:)

I gave dishcloths a try when the MDK book came out. They're fun...but I don't like using them (I'm more of a sponge lover for the kitchen). I gave mine to my mom but now she's interested in knitting some. Guess I'll have to share some of my stash and show her your source to get her going!

Love your blog! Discovered it when I was searching for where to buy Peaches & Creme.

I started a crocheted baby blanket with a cone I bough on sale. Now I can't seem to get more (I ran short). Even the manufacturer's site doesn't make it clear which one I need...I emailed them.

Anyway, I wanted to make your readers aware that Peaches & Creme can be used for lots more than dishcloths!

It would make a wonderful little girl's dress or a sunsuit for a baby boy or girl, also.

Happy knitting (AND CROCHETING)
