and so it continued

another attempt last week with 2 different skeins of koigu instead of str. long since frogged, but i look at the picture now and wonder why i did that, i kinda like it now (oh wait, i remember i liked it, but wanted more distinction between the 2 colorways).

then moved on to a mix of str (i have been using lightweight) and koigu

bad picture, but this is frogged now too.

after a week of attempts at finding the combo that really called out to me i have given up. i have now moved on to a table runner in completely different yarn, but using the feather and fan pattern still. oh well. i tried, and realized i am just so picky.

sorry i have been mia too, i got sick again and am still congested. i can almost guarantee this is another ear and sinus infection. fun!

I know what you mean about the colours, from looking at others it almost seems like you need two colours that don't match. I hope you feel better soon.

Hope you start feeling better! What you need is a 3 day trip to Packwood to join us for our "Fiber Weekend" May 4-6. Can you join us? I can't remember if you said yes or no before.

I had forgotten how beautiful Koigu is... the scarf is amazing. I think you could use any color combination of that yarn and it would be incredible.

Sorry to hear you were sick! I really like the colors even though you completely frogged. It has to speak to you so maybe you just need a break from it. Your table runner is looking good! It was nice to see you on Thursday night!

I am using two Koigu colorways for my Chevron scarf... check it out at my blog. (I'll try to post the lastest pic of it in my WIPs page today)

I have to say some of your combinations are really great.. but the one that sticks in my mind is the sherbert and watermelon tourmaline one? Why? Not sure... I want to make one in that combination though! At first I thought WOW - that's bright.. but hey.. Summer is a comin' and it might be cool!

I don't think they have sherbert any longer in STR... wanna swap with me for something? LOL!?

I think those are very spring/Easter colors.

I'm looking forward to seeing the table runner. I've wanted to make one, but just haven't figured out what I want yet.

I really like the last set, in the springy colors. I also like the bright colors as well.

What if you used a solid (or mostly solid) with one of the handpainted yarns?

I'm super slow on the uptake here, but I thought it would be worth saying that I also frogged the chevron scarf at least two times (maybe more like three or four) before settling on the colors I have now. So, you are not alone.

Cheers!
