all about color

ok, this is actually the 3rd combination i have tried. this is str sherbert and watermelon tourmaline. although the sherbert sucessfully negates the peach that i don't like, it is a little too neon. i wouldn't wear this. so onto the next color combo. i actually kind of enjoy this process.
if you look at the flickr group i linked to yesterday, the watermelon tourmaline and farmhouse color combo is my favorite. but if i am looking at it right, there are 3 versions shown and they all look really different to me. and wouldn't you know that i sold my skein of farmhouse on ebay awhile back? oh well, i know i got something that will work. and if comes down to it, i have tons of koigu that i can start swatching as well! :)

and someone really likes my snugs. i had to take them away because she was going crazy! notice how the lining is almost the same colors as my wall? yeah so i have color issues. i am very specific about what i like.
the fireplace guy came today to measure for glass doors. i am so excited about that. i haven't posted on here about this (i think) but i am re-doing my fireplace. new mantel, tile and glass doors. right now the pics are boring and i have to wait 4-6 weeks for the custom glass doors, but i'll do a progress report soon. i was so proud of myself for tearing out all the stone that was mortared on myself! it is going to look fab! or at least it does in my mind.

Your snugs are also a perfect match to your carpet! Fireplace is going to look awesome.
i love that you have such a well defined sense of style and color. everything you pick out is so "amy."
i sometimes feel that my taste and style is all over the place. except that i will always hate "barbie flesh" peach ;)
I like the color combination -- though it would certainly be a bold statement wearing it. I'm making my own as well... using two colorways of Koigu (it was readily available) until I get a few new skeins of STR from BMFA. :) BTW - Thanks for the Martini recipe -- it was one I was hoping for!
I think that color combination is a bit too neon as well. I definitely like some of the other ones you tried earlier.
What weight of STR are you using on your chevron scarf?
Your cat looks so cute hugging one the of the snugs. You need to make your cats a felted toy with that yarn. Of course, I would scream in horror if I saw one of my pups doing that. One of them really likes my knitting. Something about the smell of the yarn, I guess.
I can't wait to see pics of the fireplace - after hearing how this project got started!
I actually like the color combo's even though it is *bright*. You'll know it when you see the perfect combo! Looking forward to seeing what you decide on.
Hurray for home improvement! I can't wait to see what your fireplace is going to look like.
I love that color combo that you have pictured in this post. But I also seem to be loving all the possibilities of that wonderful chevron-scarf flickr group. I'm really tempted to begin one too right now...
And those UGGS--WOW!
Hello!
I'm French and I'm a student at the university. For my English course I have to do an expose and with my friend we have chosen "Knitting". I found your blog on the internet and it is very interesting, that's why I'm writing you.
I just have some questions and it will be nice if you could answer me quite rapidly :-)
So, I'd like to know why you like knitting, when did you begin to practise it and what you think about the knitting stereotypes and cliches.
Thanks a lot ;-)
I give you my email address: karole_25@hotmail.fr
I absoloutly adore this colour way, and think it works well with the pattern, what is it?? i want it :D
