socks complete in 4.5 days

ok, so i like them a bit more now. maybe i like the look of these, but didn't enjoy the knitting so much. not quite as fun as the handpainted yarns, but the colors are very me. by the comments i got, most of you really like this yarn (and funny, one of my best friends went out and bought it after seeing it on my blog). anyway, they are done and i can't believe how quickly i finished them (well maybe not, i have been housebound, see below).
oh and the pill bottle? well i have had quite a week i tell you. remember when i got sick back in december? still have it. but now it is a sinus infection and an ear infection. the sinus pressure is killing me. i hope the antibiotics kick in REAL soon.
not to mention that i haven't had a car for a week. why? oh i don't know, my 37k mile mini cooper's transmission has to be replaced. don't. buy. first. model. year. i'm just saying. thank goodness for warranties. doesn't mean i don't still love my car though.
with the week i've had (there was more but i won't bore you) i needed chocolate.

have you had these before? not quite gourmet, but my mom used to make them and i couldn't resist. you just melt chocolate chips with a little shortening and mix in chow mein noodles. then you just make little piles and let them set up. easy!
cooper gave them the thumbs up (my silly kitties are food OBSESSED it is so crazy, and no i did not let him eat these!)

one more thing, i had a couple people ask me about the victorian winter mitts pattern. if you aren't from here, call the shop. i think they might be able to work something out so you can buy it.
ok that covers it for now. i hope to have some stitch marker news soon. i am going to start a blog specific to them. that way you can subscribe to that to see when things are updated. but we'll see how i feel.

I hope you feel better soon. Being sick for that long is no fun.
Yummy chocolate Chow Mein!
Hey Amy - sorry you're not feeling well.... Got some STR for you though, bound to make you feel better! The closest I could find to pink, green, brown is called tidepool. Bit of purple in it though. I have nodding violet for me and more roving. yippee! See you sunday?
Sinus infections are awful! But those socks and chow mein things look wonderful. The fact that my husband would think I am crazy is the only thing stopping me from getting out of bed right now and making them. You can also mix chow mein noodles with melted butterscotch morsels and peanuts. It's like crack in food form.
I hope you start feeling better soon! There's nothing worse than feeling that crappy for that long.
I think my mom used to make those same things. Somehow I have a faint memory of them! They certainly look good!
Sorry that you are sick. A sinus infection is definitely no fun. I was surprised that you didn't like the sock because the colors seemed so you. I like them alot. Hope that the antibiotics kick in soon.
i'm so sorry you and the mini are sick. only 37K on the mini though? what year is she? mine has 51K and is only 3 years old. i guess i drive a lot.
anyway, feel better soon!
I hope you feel better soon! I've been fighting the same thing--not fun! I do love your socks. :)
I'm really sorry to hear about the sinus infection. Ugh and double ugh. Hopefully by today the antibiotics are helping.
My husband loves those -- we call them "haystacks." He likes them with butterscotch chips better than chocolate. Weird, huh? :-p
I hope you can get well soon! I'm very impressed that you were still able to knit while sick. Haven't been able to master that trick, yet. Enjoy the socks!
Like Elle already said - those chow mein noodles with the chocolate, butterscotch AND peanuts? Lordy, they're good. We have a chocolatier in town who choco-fies corn flakes, and those are also addicting.
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
check out allison's blog - she used the same yarn to make a little sweater for her (yet to be born) baby girl! http://alison.knitsmiths.us/Knitfips.html
We used to make those cookies as kids. A neighbor lady taught me to make them. She called them "Chinese New Year Cookies". Thanks for the memory!
Yes! we used to make thise cookies too, but we mixed cocolate and peanut butter. yum.
