so-so

i don't know what came over me, but this weekend i purchased the following self patterning sock yarn.

you see, i don't really like self patterning yarn. the only thing that won me over was the colors. the colors remind me of cupcakes. and then i went all out and knit like crazy so the first sock was finished in a little over a day for no real reason. and i don't love them. i like them ok, but i see the little splotches where the dye isn't supposed to be and i think they look kinda sloppy. but i have cast on for the second to avoid sss. and i won't knit with self patterning again (except for stripes, self striping is ok by me).

the yarn is trekking, i think i'll stick to their multi-colored stripey stuff.

I can see why the colors lured you in - it's very cupcakey, very Neapolitan ice creamy...

Cute, cute, cute little tray!

The plate it awesome, but I feel the same way you do about the self-striping sock yarn. It's just not my thing.

I just finished mine - same colorway, and I wish I'd done more stockinette, less fancy cloverleaf ribbing. Still, fun color combo!

Anything cupcake-like is too hard to resist - don't ask...

You are me regarding your dislike of self-patterning yarn but approval of self-stripeing. Just letting you know you're not alone!

I actually love both the tray and the sock. What yarn is it? Where did you get it?

It's not letting me log in as me, so www.radioactive-girl.blogspot.com is me.

Like they said - neapolitan ice cream socks.....yummmmmm!! Very cute and that little tray is adorable.
However, I don't think anything can top the cuteness of my snowman stitchmarkers, which arrived yesterday!
You did such a great job on them!

My daughter loves that color combination, so if you are looking for a home for your socks, just let me know! I love the little plate, too. I find little plates/serving pieces, etc., are hard for me to resist.

Maybe you will like them more once you put them on with some really, really cute shoes??????

I think they are darling.

I think that the socks are cute. And the misplaced bits of dye... chocolate chips perhaps.

I'm sorry I missed out on the snowmen markers. I don't look in every day, and see what happens? So, now I'm checking regularly for penguins.

I love your socks. That is Trekking 126 and one of the most difficult colors of trekking to track down. I have been looking for about 6 months and all I seem to ever find are high priced balls of it on ebay.
