i should have mentioned that the soy wool is soft! and it also felts - which amazes me. they had a felted sample at michaels. it felts a lot like the patons classic wool. kind of bumpy, but not bad. very tight.

and how many times have i claimed i would never sew again? yes, new owl fabric from japan that i picked up. destined to be an apron. the lady at the store promised even i was capable of sewing it. we'll see!

Gotta love a Japanese import...they have the best prints. My friend, Mary uses a lot of them on her Etsy site...

I think you will like it! :)
Have a great night!
cute! i have some monster fabric i've been meaning to make something with for a year now...
Too cute! Owls for the wise cook! BTW, you convinced me to buy some soy wool. I stopped at Michael's on the way home tonight.
I also stopped by Michael's tonight and picked up some of the soy wool. I couldn't resist the light pink and green combination. And then I saw Patons' Nuance in Mythic and had to buy some of that too. Thanks for the tip.
the soy wool felts smoother on larger needles. i think the pre-felting sample at michaels is knit to regular gauge, rather than larger like normal. i've felted a small bag, and while the resulting fabric is thick, it's not as lumpy as the sample at the store. i think i used size 10.5, plus i'm a loose knitter.
That fabric is adorable!

That owl fabric is irrestistable!
Have fun with it!
I tried the new patons soy wool too and I actually like it quite a bit!
Very cute fabric by the way!
Do you sew by hand or have a machine? :D
Love the fabric. I can't wait to see your apron.
