temptation

right now i am resisting temptation. one of the best yarn shops in seattle is having their annual sale (weaving works). i am not going. will i have made a trip by the end of the weekend? we'll see. i hope not! i really need to save my money for the trip. it helps that i had to commute into the office this morning so i couldn't possibly meet my friend there at opening like i did last year. without my work commitment, i totally would have gone :)

last night i finished up the backyard leaves scarf (the paris scarf). it goes quick on size 10 1/2 needles. i did not run out of yarn, but it is on the short side. i will most likely find a pin to keep it in place.

and a bit closer so you can see how the leaves pop out. i love that! i won't be blocking the scarf because i don't want to lose that.

and one sock was finished. i have not cast on for the second yet. i definitely have sss with this one.

happy thursday.

That sock looks great...is that color called Mountain Tango? If so, than I know and love that yarn! Way to show some self control on not going to the yarn sale...I couldn't do it:)

The scarf is beautiful! And, I love that sock, color and pattern. Is that the "More Fun Than Cables Sock?" I'm casting on for that one tonight.

My friend and I were first and second in line. It was so-so. Nothing very good on clearance. Mostly novelty yarn.

Oh my lovely. Hubby returned some yarn to WW for me last week and I totally forgot about the sale. I am sure that even though he was reminded he did not remind ME!! Good luck resisting that temptation!

Lovely scarf for your trip! A nice vintage enamel pin would be the perfect touch.

I agree with Diana. A beautiful pin would really make that scarf sing.

That really is a gorgeous scarf!

Did you know there's a behind-the-scenes thing about Grey's tonight? It's at 9 EST. It must be on ABC, whatever the "Primetime" type show is on ABC. Heck, it could be Primetime--I don't know because I don't usually watch those shows. But I will tonight!

Your scarf is gorgeous! I think a pin to hold it in place would look excellent.

Temptation is hard to resist! I hope you can do it! :)

Your scarf and socks are really nice. I love the how the leaves just pop out from the scarf. Very nice. :)

OH, I feel your pain! I'm currently not buying yarn and it just hurts so badly when you see a big sale. But, you know, if I were to buy YOU yarn and you were to buy ME yarn, well...it wouldn't really be buying yarn, would it? :)

SSS is horrible, isn't it! I have a bad case of it myself with my swirling lace anklets.

So...were you able to resist the WW temptation throughout the weekend, Amy? I was within a couple blocks on Friday and had to tug hard on the steering wheel to avoid dropping by. Andrew's teacher said it wasn't all that spectacular, anyway. We're sadly overdue for a really GOOD sale around here!! Even though I got some nice deals, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the GY sale, too. Ah, well...I suppose it's for the best, considering the relative sizes of my stash and my budget. ;o)
