it is sunny. in seattle.

you know how much i love my trekking. and how much of a selfish knitter i am. so i am struggling because my mom wants these socks.

will i be able to part with them? i haven't decided. i guess if i do, i need to find more trekking yarn.

size 1 needles are free again. wonder what socks are next!

my felted white bag from one skein. i had to eliminate 4 rows out of the pattern because i didn't have enough yarn so the shape is a bit off. i also carried 2 strands of worsted instead of the bulky it called for (lambs pride). i have to sew the button on still :)

i have a hermione hat in the works. i am in love with lorna's worsted superwash. softer than soft. oh my.

and yes my friends, it finally arrived. just in the nick of time as hold everything is closing shop for good.

so my furniture shopping (besides the bedroom) is done. now i just need some art on the walls!

and yes, seattle is having major sunshine right now with no rain in the forecast until next week. i love it!

there is some serious talk about a trip to london and paris in the fall. makes me ill just to think about the plane ride (i hate flying) but oh the destination! i'll keep you posted. i have a work trip that will take me to minnesota in june. this will be a good practice plane ride for me as it is the longest i will have been on (longest so far for me was 3 hours). ooohhh la la!

Your one skein bag is darling! I love that big button - is it just decorative? Also the living room looks lovely - that looks like the brown and blue in my entry and bedroom. Enjoy the sunshine!

Oh My Gosh. Seriously. Your living room could be in Martha Stewart Living. Send her a picture. OMG. I am soooo drooling. Damn. I won't have a LR like that until my kid moves out in 16 years. LOL! GORGEOUS.

Love the socks. Keep them. :)

Okay what yarn did you use for the bag? I loathe BS Lamb's Pride. I inhale the mohair and it makes me itch and sneeze. I usually use Cascade instead. I wonder how Malabrigo bulky would work? LOVE IT.

Mosy over to my blog to see my new Grey's tee shirt. :)

I am a native Minnesotan and I can tell you that Minnesota in June is usually very nice. Spring has almost always arrived by then and folks tend to be in good spirits. Will you be in the Twin Cities? There are several great yarn shops there. Enjoy your trip and good luck with the flight!

Hey - I hate to fly, too, and flew to Spain earlier this year. I asked my dr. for anti-anxiety meds and they MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. They don't make you sleep, just uber-relaxed. It's nice, and you could probably get a prescription and try it to see what it does to you before going. At least, that's what I did.

And I love the bag.

I love your living room! I moved into my house last July and still haven't put anything on the walls. Hell I'd be happy if I could unpack the last 4 boxes. o.0

The socks and purse are really nice. I just got the One Skein book. I can't wait to get started on something from it. Can you ask your mom to take the next set of socks? ;)

I'm in lust with those Trekking socks too!! But you know, somehow I have given my Mom the socks I've knitted that I loved the best. Mother's Day is approaching. I gave my Mom one of her Mother's Day presents early - the willow colored Simply Lovely Lace socks- when they were here visiting on vacation. She loves them!

So happy you received the rest of the furniture you were expecting. It looks beautiful in your home. I can't believe the company is going out of business, well I guess I can, based on the service you got.

I love those socks for you. I don't know if I could give them up, but it's hard to resist Mom too, right?

I love your socks, i just finished a pair for myself. I say give it to mom. I lost my mom 2 years ago at a rather young age. better not to have regrets, + you'll get to knit with trekking again! I love the feel of that yarn.
you can get more trekking here: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/the-knitter/trekkingxxl.html among other places. I like your K5 P3 (?) next time I'll do that. it shows nicely. if going to London in the Fall, try to go in October:

Amy--
socks = rich & fabulous! Bag = wonderful! But Paris (sorry), you can't miss out if the opportunity presents itself grrrll! No. I hope you get to go (I'll keep fingers crossed). I get to go to San Franscisco (Aug) & hopefully if it works out, the Carribean next fall (now that one would be NOT fear of flying, but flying THAT long with two kids. ugh).
