not quite a finished object (this bag needs a lining) but close enough. i like it, but i don't love it. not yet anyways. we'll see when i get it lined and get the chance to actually put it to use. i'll probably like it more then. the handles bug me a little (i am thinking about painting them a dark brown).
pattern: counterpane bag from handknit holidays (4th pattern i have knit from this book!)
yarn: tlc acrylic in surf?
i know a lot of people out there have the ikea billy collection. if so, you might find this link interesting, pimp your billy (click on the green shelf in the lower left corner). via apartment therapy.

That bag rocks - you did such a good job. I might have to get that book just to make it!
Amy, your bag turned out smashing! The colors are very nice, very lovely. BE happy with it, as you very well should be. ;~)
How's the condo decorating extravaganza coming along?
xo
I like the bag! I bought the same handles for a dark grey cabled bag, and used a Sharpie to change them to black handles! Worked like a charm!
This is gorgeous. Once again you've done it. I simply love love love the projects you knit up. I aspire to one day be as good as you. All I can say is Wow! This is really nice.
Happy Knitting!
The bag is so cute! Not a bad colorway for TLC.
Well if you don't like that bag I will take it off your hands! LOL! I love it!
It turned out amazingly well!

Hi Amy - it looks nice in that colourway - re lining if you want a tip (that's what I do - make handbags)I would measure your lining to sit about 1 inch short of the bottom of your bag and try and secure the lining somehow to the handles....knitted bags definitely stretch a lot and by being a bit shorter you might stop that. Cheers
Bravo, Your Bag turned out lovely. Still love that TLC yarn in Surf & Turf color. I am making a table runner now with it.
Ha ha ha, Pimp My Billy. I love it. Especially since I'm about to Pimp My Ivar to turn it into a West Elm-style TV bench. Maybe I'm putting too much faith into a $5 can of wood stain, but I'm optimistic.
Looks awesome. I have to put that one on my list. Very cool.
Oh, I love it! It's so pretty and the colors are so "you" (or at least what I've seen/read of you).
I can see you wanting the handles dark brown but I kinda like the contrast.
Wow, I need to rethink acrylic. Fab! I have been looking at the accessory bag pattern in this book, but you make me want to look at at doing the bag!
BTW, on the scarf I am thinking about possibly fringe similar to the Eleanor from Scarf Style or maybe none at all. I love the texture being created in the scarf itself
the bag looks really cute! i've been thinking about making one for myself, but i'm not sure how much use i'll get out of it. i'm a one bag kinda girl!
I have been obsessing over this pattern for so long. Yours turned out way too cute. Great job!!
I love the yarn you used for the bag. The colors are my favorite.
Amy
you've completely converted me about that book. first time I saw I thought it was ok, but not worth space on my overcrowded bookshelves, but I saw how pretty the progress on your bag was and looked again. Its now on my wishlist.
Lovely coloured yarn too!
It turned out beautifully!!
Lov the look of your blog! So pretty. And that bag is amazing... an eye catcher.
No way...I just bought my yarn this weekend to do this pattern. Yours turned out awesome...I can't wait to have one too!!! Hopefully it will turn out as pretty!
I think the bag looks great! Wait to you stuff some stuff in there and fill it out a bit. I bet you'll like it more. The colors are the best part.
You're so fast! It was yesterday when I saw the yarn! I think it's a good idea, painting the handles. I say do it! I love your blog!
I think the bag is totally cute. I do agree with you about painting the handles though. Just because the yarn is a dark brown, but it still looks great.
Very cute bag! I love the brown and blue color scheme! Cute blog!
