limes and luck
one down on the two circs. it wasn't hard at all. my gauge was a wee bit off so this sock is just a tad big (i will still be able to wear them, i just like my socks fitted). now that i think about it, all the socks i knit tend to be that way. hmmm. note to self, must adjust on the next pair. notice the similarity in color to this. i love my funky green variegated colorways.

this is the fluted banister pattern. it was super easy and i hope to get the second one done asap. the yarn is fleece artist and i love it. maybe it is more the colorway than the yarn (isn't green the color of luck? or wealth? hmm maybe these will be my lucky socks), but the yarn is pretty darn soft and i like that too. i don't like the scratchy wool sock yarn.
here is a better picture of the stitch pattern and color.

i can't believe it, but my little orange tree is doing really well in a northeast window. we have had 26 days of rain and it is budding. what is with that? these plants are supposed to be tropical? oh well! (i know i called them limes, but ultimately they do turn orange)
26 days days of rain you say? yes! so much rain that forecasters on the radio no longer do the weather report. they seriously just say "rain again". no 5 day outlook, no showers vs. drizzle. just rain. rain forever. RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!

The Fleece Artist yarn is amazing. Have you checked out their Handmaiden line? I swear, I feel like I'm going to hyperventalate when I see it. I can't wait to get it in for the shop. We are also going to have them dye us some of their amazing yarns in the color of our logo. How cool is that?

Oy, the rain. All hems of my pants are getting gross and muddy. I have to soak them every night when I get home. Sucks.
Very cute socks! I love the colorway and you did a great job. Maybe go down a needle size so they fit better?
That is an amazing colorway!
ugh, rain can be so depressing, we only had 1 week straight last october and i never wanted to get out of bed. i can't imagine what 26 days of rain would do to me! at least you have some nice bright happy green socks to keep you company!
Your sock is beautiful! I'm going to have to try that yarn. The color is definetly lucky!
i honestly don't know how you northwesterners handle the rain. i guess it could be worse -- it could be snow in april like we get.
anyway -- beautiful sock
(and i have a chili pepper plant that's finally growing chili peppers -- who knew that could happen in the winter in new england?)
Sorry to hear about all the rain. That's some horrible weather! I think anyone would go crazy with almost a month full of rain. Lucky for you, you had that awesome sock to work on. It looks great and I love the colors!
soooooooooooo not missing the rain!
Did you like the two circs better than DPNs?
The socks are beautiful! I've found I usually like the fit of my socks when I knit on size 0! I do love the two circs as opposed to DPNs. One of these days I'll really go wild and try the Magic Loop with one circ!
The lucky sock looks great. ;-) Congrats on figuring out the 2 circ for socks. It's fun, although I think the magic loop is the fastest of all.
I hope the rain ends soom for you. 26 days is too long.

I love your socks Amy - they look very springy and with the 26 days of rain now I hope spring will be very green indeed!! My meyer lemon has lost abolutely all of its leaves except for one. I am hoping everything will return in time, maybe when the rain disappears?
Ruthanne (in Seattle) ps-where did you find your yarn for the socks?
I only knit scarfs. Any ideas as to good websites or books to move to the next level?
With all of that rain, how do you manage to get such awesome pictures? I love the colors of that sock (and with your orange tree!)
Beautiful color socks. That is so funny to me that you have limes that will become oranges.

Oh how I miss the rain. I'm from Mendocino County in California, so rain makes me terribly homesick!
I'm not surprised by the lime/orange tree. I personally knew a lemon tree that was flourishing in the fog and rain. I think the main thing is that it doesn't get too cold. After all, the coastal Northwest is considered a temperate rainforest!
Very nice socks.
I love that sock! The color is great. As for the rain I love it when in the paper they try to vary the forcast with things like "morning showers followed by afternoon rain." Give me a break it's all rain!
You totally had me cracking up with the rain forecast! Your photos are amazing, and I love the green yarn, and your scarf! Can't go wrong with green. ;)
that yarn color and pattern is so vibrant! just lovely! also, i was able to grow a lemon tree indoors in chicago. i hope it thrives.
